Job Purpose

To provide effective and efficient financial management services for MTNSA while ensuring full compliance with applicable financial guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

    1. Finance Team Supervision
    • Serve as Supervisor for the finance team in the National Office, overseeing daily financial operations and ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
    • Supervise all District Accountants within MTNSA and conduct/facilitate periodic training of all finance personnel in MTNSA to ensure adequate compliance with Ministry’s financial procedures and policies.
    • Attend to financial requests and enquiry from MTNSA stations in a timely manner.
    • Assist other MTNSA stations on accounting-related matters.
    • Ensure all MTNSA stations maintain up-to-date Asset.s register and control.
    • Ensure that the National Church and other stations maintain adequate arrangements to promptly pay utility bills and recurring monthly subscriptions.
    • Regularly review all stations’ bank reconciliation statements.
    • Ensure that all Mission Stations operate with a functional budget.

     

    1. Financial Management for MTNSA
    • Collate MTNSA Yearly Budget and monitor effective implementation of approved budgets across MTNSA.
    • Maintain a comprehensive expense tracking system for Projects across MTNSA stations.
    • Confirm accuracy of remittances from MD and other stations using tracker.
    • Quarterly payroll billing preparation & circulation, as well as preparation of bi-monthly payroll.
    • Prepare and process payment Vouchers (PVs) for National transactions.
    • Ensure all income and expenses for the National Office and Bookstore are correctly booked in QB online.
    • Prepare monthly national management reports, including bank reconciliation statements National accounts (such as tithes, Shiloh, Secretariat, Reserve, ROF, and other accounts held in trust), statement of activities, statement of financial position, cash flow statement, variance analysis,
    • Complete relevant year-end closing procedures for the National and prepare National Annual Financial Reports.
    • Maintains proper Assets Register and control for the National Office

     

    1. Other roles
    • Implement financial policies and procedures for MTNSA.
    • Support the QuickBooks deployment to all stations of MTNSA.
    • Ensure tax compliance across MTNSA stations and prompt payments of all due taxes.
    • Resolve MTNSA tax compliance issues (Federal and State non-profit issues).
    • Act on all reports from Mission Visitation audits and Audit Committee.
    • Review Audit opinions and implement audit recommendations.
    • Collaborate with FMC and all volunteers to verify that all financial-related reports to management are correct.
    • Treasury Management and review of treasury positions for enhanced returns.
    • Supervise the Dominion bookstore employee(s) on all financial matters. (i.e. sales, reconciliation, etc.)
    • Collate, review, and forward all NMFR reports to IHQ
    • Any other functions that may be assigned from time to time.

 Minimum Qualifications

  • Accounting professional certification, i.e. CPA
  • Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred).
  • 5 years relevant experience with increasing responsibility
  • Experienced working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and writing communication skills
  • Deep knowledge of QuickBooks.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field and minimum 5-7 years relevant experience in accounting
  • Master’s degree or accounting certification is an added advantage
